Congrats to Mark Whatley. I look forward to
working with you on serving the people of Tyler.
Michael Tolbert, The
Right Choice for Tyler City Council District
5
My name is Michael Tolbert, and I am running for Tyler
City Council, District
5. I am proud to be a long-time Tyler resident and an active participant
in my community. As a father, a son, a small business owner, and a friend
of Tyler residents, I understand the issues important to Tyler.
I am committed to putting people first. The decisions made by the Council
affect your everyday lives. The responsible fiscal policies Tyler has
implemented have resulted in taxpayer savings. Together we can ensure
the economic development of our city is balanced with the needs of our
residents. The “Tyler 21” study made a good start at building a strong
Tyler, and I will support its continuation as your councilman.

- The appraisal review board (ARB) is the judicial part of the
system. The ARB is a separate body from the appraisal office and
serves a different function. It hears and resolves disputes over
appraisal matters. This is a very broad and important responsibility,
but the ARB must be sensitive to its legal and practical limits.
